Common treatments include cryotherapy (freezing the lesions with liquid nitrogen), topical medications (such as 5-fluorouracil or imiquimod), photodynamic therapy (using light-activated drugs), and laser therapy. These treatments aim to prevent the progression of actinic keratosis to squamous cell carcinoma, a type of skin cancer.
