Mesotherapy
Mesotherapy is a minimally invasive procedure that involves the injection of various pharmaceutical and homeopathic medications, plant extracts, vitamins, and other ingredients directly into the subcutaneous fat. Originally developed in 1952 by the French doctor Michel Pistor to treat such conditions as vascular diseases, sports injuries, and the improvement of circulation, mesotherapy has since found its way into the cosmetic field, particularly for fat removal, cellulite reduction, face and neck rejuvenation, and, notably, the treatment of various types of alopecia.
In the context of hair loss, mesotherapy aims to deliver active substances directly into the scalp's mesoderm to stimulate hair growth, improve blood circulation, and provide the hair follicles with the nutrients they require. The treatment is thought to counteract certain hair loss causes by potentially reversing the shrinking of follicles and encouraging them to return to their normal growth phase. This is achieved through a combination of solutions injected into the area, which may include plant extracts, vitamins, growth factors, and more notably, Dutasteride.
Research on mesotherapy's effectiveness in treating hair loss has shown promising results. Studies indicate that mesotherapy can be an effective treatment option, particularly for androgenetic alopecia and telogen effluvium, by improving hair density and reducing hair loss. For instance, a study focusing on the use of a dutasteride-containing preparation in mesotherapy for female pattern hair loss showed significant improvement in hair density, thickness, and overall satisfaction among participants with minimal side effects. However, the research also highlights the need for more extensive and standardized studies to fully understand the potential benefits and mechanisms of mesotherapy for hair loss, as well as its long-term safety and efficacy.
The community's sentiment towards mesotherapy is generally positive, with many users sharing their personal success stories and discussing the effectiveness of various treatment protocols. Community members often explore the combination of mesotherapy with other hair loss treatments, such as topical minoxidil or finasteride, to enhance results. However, there is a recognition of the variability in individual responses to mesotherapy, and discussions frequently underscore the importance of selecting experienced practitioners and reputable clinics to minimize risks and achieve the best outcomes.
In conclusion, mesotherapy presents a promising, though still somewhat exploratory, approach to treating hair loss. It utilizes a direct method of injecting growth-promoting substances into the scalp, potentially offering a targeted and effective treatment option for individuals struggling with various forms of alopecia.
