TLDR Mesotherapy is not significantly better than minoxidil for treating male hair loss.
This randomized controlled trial compared the efficacy and safety of mesotherapy and 5% topical minoxidil in treating male androgenic alopecia (AGA) using dermoscopic evaluation. The study involved 49 males, with 25 receiving mesotherapy and 24 using minoxidil over 4 months. Results showed a significant increase in hair shaft diameter variation in the mesotherapy group compared to the minoxidil group (P = 0.01), but other parameters did not show significant differences. The study concluded that mesotherapy did not provide significant improvement over minoxidil for male AGA.
