TLDR A vibrating anesthetic device significantly reduces pain during mesotherapy for hair loss without complications.
In a study involving 30 patients receiving scalp mesotherapy for androgenetic alopecia (AGA) and alopecia areata (AA), the use of a vibrating anesthetic device (VAD) significantly reduced pain. The mean pain score without VAD was 8.0 ± 1.0, compared to 2.3 ± 1.5 with VAD for AGA, and 7.4 ± 1.2 without VAD versus 2.1 ± 1.3 with VAD for AA, with both differences being statistically significant (P < .001). No complications were associated with VAD use, and all patients expressed a preference for using VAD in future treatments. The study concluded that VAD is a safe and effective method to alleviate pain during mesotherapy procedures.
