20 / 1000+ resultsresearch Effects of the Usage of l-Cysteine (l-Cys) on Human Health
L-Cysteine may have health benefits, but its effectiveness is still debated due to limited clinical trial data.
research Study on modification of rabbit hair fibers with L-cysteine
L-cysteine and ultrasound successfully improved rabbit hair fibers for industrial use.
research Action of Thioglycolic Acid and L-Cysteine to Disulfide Cross-Links in Hair Fibers during Permanent Waving Treatment
Thioglycolic acid and L-cysteine change hair structure differently during perms, affecting hair strength and curling efficiency.
research Deficiency of the human cysteine protease inhibitor cystatin M/E causes hypotrichosis and dry skin
The study investigated the role of the cysteine protease inhibitor cystatin M/E, encoded by the CST6 gene, in hair and skin diseases. Genetic analysis of two related patients with hypotrichosis revealed a homozygous c.361C>T (p.Gln121*) variant in CST6, leading to a premature stop codon. This mutation was associated with symptoms like hypotrichosis, eczema, blepharitis, photophobia, and impaired sweating. Functional assays showed that the mutant cystatin M/E could not inhibit its target proteases (legumain and cathepsins L and V). The findings highlighted the critical role of cystatin M/E in maintaining epidermal homeostasis and hair follicle development.
research Analysis of heterogeneous reaction between reducing agents and keratin fibers using Raman spectroscopy and microspectrophotometry
The study found that thioglycolic acid breaks down hair bonds more consistently than l-cysteine, which is less damaging to hair.
research Characterization of transport systems for cysteine, lysine, alanine, and leucine in wool follicles of sheep
Sheep wool follicles absorb different amino acids at various rates and locations, which could affect wool growth based on diet and genetics.
research Promotion of Hair Growth by Applying Sulfur Amino Acids and Other Things to the Skin
Applying L-methionine and L-serine to the skin promotes the most hair growth.
research Internal structure changes in bleached black human hair resulting from chemical treatments: A Raman spectroscopic investigation
Chemical treatments on bleached black hair change its internal structure by breaking and reforming bonds, and treatments with hydrolyzed eggwhite protein help repair it.
research Nutrition of women with hair loss problem during the period of menopause
Eating a balanced diet with specific nutrients is important for menopausal women to manage hair loss.
research Nutrition and Hair
Eating the right nutrients can improve hair health, but taking extra supplements usually doesn't help unless you have a deficiency.
research New agents for cancer chemoprevention
Over 30 potential cancer prevention treatments are being tested, with some showing promise in early research.
research Influence of FHIT on benzo[ a ]pyrene-induced tumors and alopecia in mice: Chemoprevention by budesonide and N -acetylcysteine
Budesonide and N-acetylcysteine reduced tumors and alopecia in mice, regardless of FHIT gene status.
research In vitro methodology, hormonal and nutritional effects and fibre production in isolated ovine and caprine anagen hair follicles
Angora goat hair grows faster and produces more protein than cashmere goat hair, and certain hormones and nutrients positively affect hair growth and protein synthesis.
research Efficiency research of the comprehensive hair loss treatment
The comprehensive treatment with biomimetic peptide lotion was effective for hair loss.
research 705 Particulate matter induces inflammatory response in human outer root sheath cells via oxidative stress-dependent MAPK and JAK-STAT signaling pathways
This study investigates the impact of particulate matter (PM) on human outer root sheath (ORS) cells, focusing on oxidative stress-dependent MAPK and JAK-STAT signaling pathways. PM exposure increased reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation and activated aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR), p38, JNK, and STAT3, leading to elevated levels of inflammatory mediators and cytokines such as COX-2, PGE2, IL-1α, IL-1β, IL-6, IL-8, and MMP-1. Pretreatment with N-acetyl-L-cysteine and inhibitors of MAPK and JAK-STAT pathways reduced these inflammatory responses. The findings suggest that PM-induced inflammation in ORS cells via these pathways could impair hair growth.
research Facile and Efficient Enzymatic Methods for Harvesting or Removal of Cuticle Cells from Human Hair Shafts
The conclusion is that new methods for isolating hair cuticle cells and removing the cuticle layer are effective and convenient.
research Efficiency research of the comprehensive hair loss treatment
The complex treatment for hair loss was found to be effective.

Hair is culturally and economically valuable, and its weight is now used to measure the effectiveness of hair growth treatments.
research Booby Trap: Cancer gene spurs production of DNA-assaulting chemicals that alert and defuse rescue molecule (Cancer; Oxidative damage)
The cancer gene c-Myc increases harmful chemicals that damage DNA and can lead to cancer, but antioxidants can reduce this damage.
research Cysteine Prevents the Reduction in Keratin Synthesis Induced by Iron Deficiency in Human Keratinocytes
Cysteine helps maintain keratin production in skin cells even when iron is low.
