TLDR Managing inflammation and using vitamins can improve PRP therapy for better hair growth.
This narrative review explores the role of inflammatory biomarkers and growth factors in the effectiveness of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy for hair regrowth. It highlights that managing inflammation and optimizing antioxidant status can improve hair density and thickness. The review suggests incorporating vitamins and an anti-inflammatory diet into treatment protocols for more stable hair growth and fewer adverse reactions. It emphasizes the need for standardization in PRP preparation and activation methods and suggests that integrating inflammatory and oxidative stress indicators can help tailor PRP therapies for alopecia. The analysis underscores the potential of combining PRP with other treatments, such as microneedling and low-level laser therapy, to enhance efficacy. Future research should focus on personalizing treatments by considering inflammatory markers and optimizing PRP formulations.
