TLDR PRP treatment helps hair growth and density in androgenetic alopecia patients.
This study conducted a randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind, half-head study to assess the efficacy of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) on the treatment of androgenetic alopecia (AGA). The study included 25 patients with AGA who received a total of 3 treatments of PRP, 1 month apart. The results showed that PRP treatment was effective in promoting hair growth and increasing hair density in patients with AGA. The study suggests that PRP may be a promising treatment option for AGA. However, more controlled and well-designed clinical trials should be conducted to confirm the clinical improvement of AGA with administration of PRP.
