TLDR More frequent PRP sessions with shorter intervals improve hair loss treatment.
This study conducted a network meta-analysis and meta-regression to evaluate the efficacy of different platelet-rich plasma (PRP) regimens for treating androgenetic alopecia (AGA). Analyzing 25 trials, the study identified 10 unique PRP regimens and found that increased session frequency and shorter intervals between sessions improved efficacy. Additionally, chemically-activated PRP, double centrifugation, younger patient age, female sex, and whole-head administration were associated with better outcomes. These findings suggest that optimizing these factors can enhance PRP treatment effectiveness for AGA and may help standardize clinical practice guidelines.
