Autologous Activated Platelet-Rich Plasma (AA-PRP) and Non-Activated (A-PRP) in Hair Growth: A Retrospective, Blinded, Randomized Evaluation in Androgenetic Alopecia

    Pietro Gentile, Simone Garcovich
TLDR PRP, especially AA-PRP, can help improve hair growth in androgenetic alopecia.
The study evaluated the effectiveness of autologous activated platelet-rich plasma (AA-PRP) and non-activated platelet-rich plasma (A-PRP) in promoting hair growth in patients with androgenetic alopecia. It was a retrospective, blinded, randomized evaluation involving a significant number of participants. The results indicated that both AA-PRP and A-PRP treatments led to improvements in hair density and thickness, with AA-PRP showing slightly better outcomes. The study concluded that PRP, particularly AA-PRP, could be a promising treatment option for androgenetic alopecia.
