TLDR Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a cheap and easy treatment for hair loss, but not suitable for everyone. It also helps in healing ulcers, rejuvenating skin, and improving hair transplants.
Nine years ago, a study was conducted on 11 patients with androgenic alopecia who were unresponsive to minoxidil and finasteride. They were treated with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections, which resulted in a significant reduction in hair loss and an increase in hair count. The study concluded that PRP is a simple, cost-effective, and feasible treatment for androgenic alopecia. The document also discussed the optimal frequency and platelet concentration for the procedure, and the importance of maintaining a sterile environment. However, it was not recommended for patients with certain health conditions. PRP was also found to be effective in ulcer healing, skin rejuvenation, and enriching hair root grafts in hair transplant procedures.

Kitchen_Plastic_2847 had been fighting hair loss since 2019-2020 and was initially successful in regrowing his hair with finasteride. However, after contracting Covid three times back to back at the start of 2021, he started to lose his hair again. He found a new dermatologist who prescribed him oral minoxidil along with finasteride, but eventually decided it wasn't worth spending all the money to try and save his hair.
