TLDR PRP treatment for hair loss improves quality of life and emotional well-being.
This study evaluated the impact of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatment on the quality of life for patients with hair loss using the HAIRDEX 48 survey. Ninety-two patients, with a mean age of 48.2 years, received PRP injections and were assessed over a period of 3-5 months. Significant improvements were observed in overall quality of life, emotional well-being, symptoms, functioning, stigmatization, and self-confidence. The HAIRDEX scores showed a notable decrease from 23.2 to 19.7 (p<0.001) post-treatment. The findings suggest that PRP is a safe and effective treatment for hair loss, enhancing patients' psychological and emotional health.

PRP treatments for hair density show mixed results, with some users seeing minor improvements but not significant regrowth or halting of hair loss. Combining PRP with treatments like minoxidil, finasteride, or dutasteride may enhance results, but it is not a miracle solution.
