Efficacy of non-surgical treatments for androgenetic alopecia: a systematic review and network meta-analysis

A systematic review and network meta-analysis of non-surgical treatments for androgenetic alopecia (AGA) found that low level laser therapy (LLLT) was the most effective treatment, followed by PRP, finasteride, and minoxidil. However, the quality of evidence was generally low, and more high-quality trials are needed to support these findings. Finasteride and minoxidil were found to be the most effective non-surgical treatments for hair regrowth in patients with AGA, while platelet-rich plasma and low-level laser therapy showed some promise but require further research. The study suggests that quantitative comparisons of non-surgical AGA treatments could aid treatment decisions and influence patient outcomes.
