The study aimed to compare the efficacy of different treatment regimens for androgenetic alopecia (AGA) in men. The study involved 100 male patients with AGA of Hamilton grades II to IV who were randomized into four groups. The groups were administered oral finasteride, topical 2% minoxidil solution, and topical 2% ketoconazole shampoo alone and in combination. The study found that hair growth was observed in all groups, with the best results recorded with a combination of finasteride and minoxidil. The study concluded that the therapeutic efficacy is enhanced by combining the two drugs acting on different aetiological aspects of AGA.
