Microneedles Along with Conventional Therapies: An In-Depth Observational Review in Alopecia Areata Treatment

    Priyanka Arora, Rahul Shukla
TLDR Microneedles combined with conventional therapies show promise in treating alopecia areata.
The review highlights the potential of microneedles (MN) in treating alopecia areata (AA) by enhancing the efficacy of conventional therapies. MNs create microchannels in the skin, improving the absorption of topical medications and stimulating hair regrowth through mechanisms like activation of dermal papillae and increased blood circulation. This method shows promise in overcoming the limitations of traditional treatments, such as poor drug penetration and significant side effects. The review suggests that MNs, especially when combined with drug therapies, offer superior hair regeneration outcomes. Future clinical trials and advancements in MN technology are anticipated to further validate and commercialize this innovative approach.
