Maintaining Hair Inductivity in Human Dermal Papilla Cells: A Review of Effective Methods
January 2020
in “Skin Pharmacology and Physiology”
TLDR The review concluded that keeping the hair-growing ability of human dermal papilla cells is key for hair development and growth.
The 2020 review "Maintaining Hair Inductivity in Human Dermal Papilla Cells: A Review of Effective Methods" discussed the importance of preserving the hair growth stimulating ability of human dermal papilla cells (DPCs). The authors noted that traditional cultivation methods often reduce the inductive capacity of these cells. They suggested optimizing culture conditions and explored the potential role of exosomes in regulating hair follicle growth. The review found that three-dimensional (3D) spheroid cultures of human DPCs showed hair follicle formation in mice, unlike two-dimensional (2D) cultures. It also discussed the potential of exosome-based treatment for maintaining hair inductivity of DPCs. Various growth factors were found to regulate hair follicle growth and cell cycle. The review concluded that maintaining the hair inductive capacity of DPCs is crucial for hair follicle development and growth, and recommended further studies to improve the hair inductivity of DPCs.
