TLDR Organoid technology is improving personalized medicine by better predicting drug responses and treatments.
Organoid technology is revolutionizing precision medicine by using three-dimensional culture systems to model tissue-specific microenvironments, aiding in drug efficacy screening, disease studies, and patient-tailored diagnostics. Patient-derived tumor organoids, for example, maintain tumor heterogeneity and genomic profiles, helping predict chemotherapy responses. Despite successes, challenges like standardization and ethical considerations remain. Future advancements with AI, microfluidics, and spatial transcriptomics are expected to improve organoid scalability and clinical relevance, ultimately enhancing drug development and individualized treatments.
