TLDR The formula may improve hair growth and health by boosting blood flow and reducing cell stress.
The study investigates the Shen-Ying-Yang-Zhen formula (SYF) as a treatment for androgenetic alopecia (AGA), revealing its potential to enhance hair follicle health by promoting angiogenesis and reducing oxidative stress. SYF achieves these effects by upregulating Nrf2 to decrease reactive oxygen species (ROS) production and activating the VEGF/Akt/Caspase-9 signaling axis to enhance angiogenesis and inhibit apoptosis in hair follicle cells. These mechanisms suggest that SYF could be a promising therapeutic agent for AGA, offering a safer alternative to current treatments with fewer adverse effects.
