Caspase-9 is an enzyme that plays a crucial role in the process of apoptosis, which is the programmed cell death essential for maintaining healthy tissue and organ function. This enzyme is also known as Apoptotic protease Mch-6 and is vital for preventing the accumulation of damaged or potentially cancerous cells.
