TLDR Herbal extract spray improved hair growth in a man with hair loss.
A 41-year-old male patient with androgenic alopecia (AGA) experienced significant hair growth after using Zimmer aqueous spray (ZAS), a herbal extract, for three months. The treatment resulted in an increase in hair density and diameter, a decrease in vellus hair, and an improvement in scalp condition. The mean hair diameter increased by 19.92 μm, 7.07 μm at the left and right frontal region, and 12.16 μm at the vertex. These results were better than a previous study using 5% minoxidil treatment. However, the study acknowledges the need for more research with a larger sample size to understand potential side effects, active ingredients, and the pharmacological mechanisms involved in the treatment. The document also suggests that combining microneedling with ZAS treatment could be effective.
