TLDR Scalp dermatoscopy helps diagnose and monitor hair loss severity.
This study examined the scalp dermatoscopic findings in androgenetic alopecia (AGA) and their relation to disease severity. The study found that certain trichoscopic findings, such as white dots and honeycomb pigment pattern, were more common in severe cases of male AGA. In female AGA, hidden hair was a common finding. The study suggests that scalp dermatoscopy can be a useful tool in diagnosing and monitoring AGA.
