    GlossaryTrichostasis Spinulosa (white dots)

skin condition with tiny, dark plugs in hair follicles

Trichostasis Spinulosa (TS) is a skin condition characterized by the presence of multiple tiny, dark, spiny plugs in hair follicles, often appearing as black dots on the skin. These plugs are composed of clusters of vellus hairs (fine, short hairs) that fail to emerge properly from the follicle, leading to a buildup. It commonly occurs on the face, particularly the nose, and can be mistaken for blackheads or other forms of acne.
