TLDR TFC-loaded microneedles effectively promote hair regrowth in androgenetic alopecia.
This study investigates a novel treatment for androgenetic alopecia (AGA) using a multifunctional nanomedicine, TFC, which combines curcumin with tannic acid and iron to enhance solubility and stability. TFC targets hair follicles by alleviating oxidative stress and activating autophagy, crucial for hair growth. In a mouse model, TFC-loaded microneedles (TFC MN) demonstrated superior efficacy in promoting hair regeneration compared to minoxidil, improving follicle health, and accelerating hair regrowth without adverse effects. The study suggests TFC MN as a promising therapeutic strategy for AGA, leveraging nanotechnology for effective transdermal delivery and enhanced bioavailability.
