TLDR Argan press cake extract might help grow hair and protect hair cells from damage and inflammation.
The research explored the use of Argan Press Cake (APC) extracts, which are rich in phenolic compounds, saponins, and phytosterols, for stimulating hair growth and developing anti-hair loss drugs. The study found that when applied to human hair follicle dermal papilla cells (HFDPCs), APC extracts increased cell proliferation and mitochondrial activity, reduced inflammation and oxidative stress, activated hair growth-related pathways, and downregulated genes related to inflammation and oxidative stress. Therefore, APC extracts could potentially be used in the creation of anti-hair loss drugs due to their ability to stimulate hair growth and inhibit inflammation and oxidative stress in HFDPCs.
