TLDR 3,4,5-tri-O-caffeoylquinic acid promotes hair growth by activating the β-catenin pathway.
The study demonstrated that 3,4,5-tri-O-caffeoylquinic acid (TCQA) promoted hair growth by activating the β-catenin signaling pathway. In vivo experiments with 30 mice showed that TCQA treatment led to increased hair follicle density and hair shaft length, with complete hair regrowth in shaved areas within 30 days. TCQA upregulated genes associated with hair growth and downregulated those involved in hair loss, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic agent for treating hair loss. The findings indicated that TCQA effectively induced the anagen phase of the hair cycle without adverse effects, highlighting its promise for future clinical applications.
