The research article presents a study on the use of an oleogel (OG) containing copper-curcumin (CuR) nanoparticles, combined with traditional naturopathic scraping (Gua Sha, SCR), as a multifunctional therapy for Androgenetic alopecia (AGA). The study found that with the help of lipophilic OG and SCR, CuR can effectively penetrate the epidermal and dermal regions where most hair follicles reside, releasing curcumin and copper ions subcutaneously to facilitate hair regeneration. The mechanical stimulation from SCR also promotes the formation of new blood vessels, improving the microenvironment of hair follicles. The combination of CuRG and SCR was found to interfere with different pathological processes, improving the perifollicular microenvironment, regulating inflammatory responses, and degrading the androgen receptor, thus promoting hair growth. The study concluded that this synergistic system showed enhanced hair regeneration in the AGA mouse model compared to minoxidil, a commonly used clinical drug for AGA therapy.
