    Neutrophil Extracellular Traps (NETs) are web-like structures composed of DNA, histones, and antimicrobial proteins that are released by neutrophils, a type of white blood cell, to trap and kill pathogens. This process, known as NETosis, helps the immune system control infections but can also contribute to inflammation and tissue damage if not regulated properly.
