TLDR Nanomaterials can significantly improve wound healing and future treatments may include smart, real-time monitoring.
The review discusses the application of nanomaterials in wound healing, emphasizing their ability to promote hemostasis, control infections, and enhance tissue repair through mechanisms like rapid blood clotting, antimicrobial activity, and drug delivery. Nanomaterials also aid in immunoregulation and tissue reconstruction, influencing macrophage behavior and promoting angiogenesis, granulation tissue formation, and epithelialization. However, challenges such as potential toxicity, the need for more comprehensive in vivo studies, and the risk of microbial resistance remain. Future research should focus on intelligent healing technologies, real-time monitoring, and precision regulation to improve the efficacy and safety of nanomaterials in wound treatment.
