TLDR PRP improves hair thickness for both genders, but only increases hair density in men.
The efficacy of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) for treating androgenetic alopecia (AGA) in men and women was investigated in a meta-analysis of 9-15 studies. The results showed that PRP significantly increased hair diameter in both genders, but only increased hair density in men. The double spin method for preparing PRP was found to be more effective than the single spin method. The study suggests that PRP may be a promising treatment option for AGA in men and women, but more research is needed to determine its efficacy in women.
