TLDR Using Platelet-Rich Plasma injections for male-pattern baldness didn't significantly improve hair growth.
The 2020 study "Treatment of Male-Pattern Alopecia with Platelet-Rich Plasma" involved 20 male patients with Androgenetic Alopecia (AGA) who were treated with 3 monthly injections of Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP). However, the study found no statistically significant improvement in hair count or proportion of anagen hairs. The researchers suggested that the lack of significant results could be due to variables in PRP preparation or the small number of patients. They recommended further studies to establish a standardized and effective PRP protocol.
