TLDR The study identified key genes and pathways that influence goat wool quality and growth.
This study on Jinlan Cashmere Goats examined the expression profiles of lncRNAs and mRNAs in skin tissues from two different coat types, revealing 130 differentially expressed lncRNAs and 341 differentially expressed mRNAs. Key findings include the identification of crucial GO terms related to keratin and cytokine activity, and pivotal lncRNAs TCONS_00050130 and TCONS_00050142. KEGG pathway analysis highlighted significant pathways such as the Estrogen signaling pathway and cytokine-cytokine receptor interaction. A ceRNA regulatory network was constructed, identifying regulatory axes targeting genes like EPPK1 and IRF4. These insights enhance understanding of ncRNA roles in hair follicle biology and suggest targets for improving cashmere quality and yield.
