TLDR Some cosmetic procedures show promise for treating hair loss, but more research is needed to confirm their safety and effectiveness.

The 2017 document reviews cosmetic procedures for alopecia treatment, including mesotherapy, microneedling, PRP, and low-level light therapy. Mesotherapy, involving microinjections of substances, has limited evidence for efficacy, with one study of 28 male AGA patients showing some effectiveness. Laser/light treatments have variable success in improving hair texture and stimulating growth.
