    TLDR Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections can effectively increase hair density and thickness in people with androgenic alopecia, without major side effects.
    In 2015, two studies were conducted to assess the effectiveness of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) in treating androgenic alopecia. The first study involved 40 patients who received PRP injections for six months, resulting in a significant increase in hair density and thickness compared to the control group. The second study, involving 10 patients, also used PRP injections over a three-month period, showing clinical improvement in hair counts, thickness, root strength, and overall alopecia. Both studies concluded that PRP is an effective, affordable treatment for androgenic alopecia with no major adverse effects. However, they also noted that further randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trials were needed to confirm PRP's efficacy in inducing hair growth.
