The 2010 "Guidelines for the management of androgenetic alopecia" provide recommendations for the diagnosis and treatment of hair loss in both men and women. The document recommends the use of topical minoxidil as a first-line treatment for both genders, and oral finasteride for men. The use of prosthetic hair implantation is not recommended due to lack of evidence. The document also mentions various studies and their results to support these recommendations.
