The study conducted at Shanghai East Hospital examined the impact of local skin precooling (LSPC) on reducing pain during scalp nerve block (SNB) in 100 patients with androgenetic alopecia undergoing platelet-rich plasma (PRP) mesotherapy. Participants were divided into two groups, with one group receiving LSPC before SNB. Results indicated that the precooling group experienced significantly lower pain levels, with a 34.08% reduction at certain nerve points. The study concluded that LSPC is a simple and effective method to enhance patient comfort and compliance during PRP mesotherapy, despite limitations such as its retrospective nature and small sample size.
