TLDR Umbilical cord-derived media is safe and effective for hair growth.
The document presents a study on the safety and efficacy of human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stromal cell-conditioned media (MSC-CM) for hair regeneration. In vitro tests showed MSC-CM to be stable, safe at the cellular level, and effective in promoting hair growth. A clinical pilot study with 15 volunteers reported no side effects, with 86.6% experiencing positive hair regeneration effects. Additionally, a clinical study with unspecified participants found 92% patient satisfaction after 3 months, with no adverse drug reactions and improvements in hair fall control and scalp condition. The study concluded that MSC-CM is a safe, effective, and consistent quality non-drug approach for hair regeneration, though it noted the limitations of a small sample size and the absence of a comparator product. Further research is suggested to validate these findings.
