TLDR Exosome therapy is the most effective for hair growth, but it's experimental and expensive.
This systematic review analyzed 26 studies to compare exosome therapy, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), and minoxidil for treating androgenetic alopecia (AGA). Exosome therapy emerged as the most effective, offering significant increases in hair density with minimal side effects, despite being experimental and costly. PRP showed moderate effectiveness, often outperforming minoxidil, which required continuous use for modest gains. Sample sizes varied from 5 to 376 participants, covering both genders. Combination therapies, such as PRP with minoxidil, generally outperformed individual treatments. The review emphasizes the need for larger, standardized trials to confirm the efficacy and safety of exosome therapy, particularly across diverse populations.
