November 2024 in “Pharmaciana” The study aimed to optimize a nanoemulsion hair serum using chia seed oil, which contains linolenic acid to stimulate sebum glands, by employing the Simplex Lattice Design method. The research focused on determining the optimal formula composition using Design Expert 13 software, varying Tween 80 and propylene glycol. The study evaluated parameters such as pH, viscosity, homogeneity, emulsion type, particle size, zeta potential, polydispersity index, and percent transmittance. The optimal formula was found to be 33.52% Tween 80 and 46.48% propylene glycol, achieving a desirability value of 0.947. The formula met all physical characteristic tests and demonstrated stable physical properties, with no significant changes in pH during stability testing. The results indicate that the optimized chia seed oil nanoemulsion hair serum meets the necessary requirements for good physical characteristics and stability.
