TLDR Combining Minoxidil and Rosemary oil in liposomes improves Minoxidil's effectiveness and remains stable for 60 days.
The study prepared and characterized liposomes containing Minoxidil and Rosemary essential oil to enhance hair growth. Using a thin-film hydration method, the liposomes showed an increased encapsulation efficacy of Minoxidil (73%) when combined with Rosemary essential oil, compared to Minoxidil alone (64%). The encapsulation efficacy of Rosemary essential oil was not significantly affected by the presence of Minoxidil. The particle size and zeta potential of the liposomes remained stable over 60 days of storage, indicating good physical stability. These findings suggested that the coencapsulation of Minoxidil and Rosemary essential oil in liposomes could be a promising formulation for hair growth stimulation.
