Harnessing miRNA Milk-Derived Exosomes for Hair Loss Disorders: In Vitro Modulation of WNT Signaling and Dermal Papilla Proliferation

    This study explores the use of bovine milk-derived exosomes (MEV-miRNAs) for treating hair loss disorders such as androgenetic alopecia and telogen effluvium. The research found that MEV-miRNAs can enhance the viability of hair follicle dermal papilla cells by 24.27% after 24 hours and significantly up-regulate WNT pathway components, which are crucial for hair follicle growth. Although human hair follicles showed a non-significant trend towards increased elongation, the findings suggest that MEV-miRNAs could be a promising therapeutic strategy for hair loss by modulating key signaling pathways. Further in vivo studies are needed to confirm these effects.
