TLDR Exosome therapy could help with hair loss, but more research is needed to confirm its safety and effectiveness.
This literature review explores the potential of exosome therapy as a treatment for alopecia, highlighting its role in hair morphogenesis and regeneration. The review includes 47 studies and discusses the history, mechanisms, and current clinical studies related to exosome use in medicine. While preclinical studies show promising benefits for hair loss treatment, clinical trials have yet to provide conclusive evidence of efficacy and safety for alopecia. The review identifies several gaps in knowledge, such as safety concerns, exosome sources, and optimal delivery methods, emphasizing the need for further research and clinical trials to establish exosome therapy as a viable treatment for hair loss.
