TLDR Exosome therapy improved hair growth and quality in a child with hair issues.
This case report describes the successful treatment of a severe hair shaft abnormality in an 8-year-old female using adipose tissue-derived exosomes. The patient, who had previously failed other treatments, showed significant improvement in hair density, texture, and color three months after a single session of exosome therapy, with no adverse effects reported. The study highlights the potential of exosome therapy in promoting hair follicle regeneration and improving hair structure through mechanisms like the activation of the Wnt/β-catenin pathway. Despite the promising results, the authors emphasize the need for further studies with larger sample sizes and standardized protocols to validate the efficacy and safety of this novel treatment approach for hair loss conditions.
