TLDR Colostrum-derived exosomes can promote hair growth and may be a promising treatment for hair loss.
The study investigates the potential of colostrum-derived exosomes (Milk-exo) for promoting hair regeneration by transitioning hair follicles from the telogen to anagen phase. Milk-exo was found to induce the proliferation of dermal papilla (DP) cells, crucial for hair growth, and counteract the inhibitory effects of dihydrotestosterone (DHT) on these cells. In vivo experiments on C57BL/6 mice showed that Milk-exo significantly improved hair growth, evidenced by increased β-catenin expression in hair follicles. The findings suggest that Milk-exo could offer a promising, less-invasive treatment for hair loss with minimal adverse effects.
