TLDR Exosomes may improve skin and hair treatments but need more research for safe use.
Exosomes, derived from mesenchymal stem cells, are gaining attention in cosmetic dermatology for their potential in skin rejuvenation, wound healing, pigmentation disorders, and hair loss treatment. They improve skin hydration, elasticity, and reduce wrinkles, while also enhancing scarless repair and modulating melanocyte activity for pigmentation issues. Notably, exosomes show promise in treating hair loss conditions like androgenetic alopecia by promoting hair follicle regeneration. Despite these benefits, challenges such as standardizing exosome isolation, dosage, and regulatory approval remain, necessitating further research and large-scale clinical trials to ensure safety and efficacy.
