TLDR Using combined fat and growth factors can effectively treat hair loss after facial fillers.
This study assessed the effectiveness of a composite gel made from autologous chylated fat and concentrated growth factors for treating postinjection alopecia after facial fillers in 9 female patients. Over three monthly sessions with a 6-month follow-up, the treatment significantly improved hair density, shaft diameter, and follicle function, with hair density increasing by 183% and shaft diameter by 44.9%. The treatment was well-tolerated, with only mild, transient erythema in one patient, and resulted in high patient satisfaction and positive esthetic outcomes. Despite the promising results, the small sample size and short follow-up period suggest the need for further research with larger, multicenter trials to confirm long-term efficacy and safety.
