TLDR CGF therapy may effectively treat psoriasis by reducing inflammation.
The study investigates the use of Concentrated Growth Factor (CGF) therapy, rich in CD34+ stem cells, for treating psoriasis, leveraging its success in androgenetic alopecia. In a study with 12 androgenetic alopecia patients, CGF injections reduced serum IL-17 levels. In a psoriasis mouse model, CGF improved skin conditions and reduced inflammation, with RNA sequencing showing downregulated IL-17 and upregulated CD34 expression. In vitro, CD34+ cells from CGF reduced inflammatory markers in keratinocytes. A psoriasis patient unresponsive to IL-23 therapy improved with CGF treatment. These findings suggest CGF could be effective for psoriasis, especially in resistant cases, by modulating immune responses. However, the study's small sample size and reliance on in vitro models highlight the need for further research.
