TLDR Combining PRP with minoxidil significantly improves hair growth in AGA patients.
This meta-analysis of 6 studies with 343 participants found that combining platelet-rich plasma (PRP) with minoxidil significantly improves hair growth in androgenetic alopecia (AGA) patients compared to using either treatment alone. The combination treatment resulted in a notable increase in hair density (WMD = 9.14; 95% CI: 6.57–11.70) and hair diameter (WMD = 4.72; 95% CI: 3.21–6.23), along with higher patient satisfaction rates. The study concludes that PRP combined with minoxidil is an effective treatment for AGA.
