TLDR CircAGK affects cell death in hair cells by controlling the miR-3180-5p/BAX pathway, which can lead to hair loss.
The study investigates the role of CircAGK in high dihydrotestosterone-induced apoptosis in DPCs (Dermal Papilla Cells) through the miR-3180-5p/BAX axis. The research found that CircAGK promotes DPC apoptosis in vitro and also promotes hair loss in AGA (Androgenetic Alopecia) mice. The study also discovered a reverse regulatory relationship between circAGK and miR-3180-5p, with miR-3180-5p inversely regulating BAX inhibition of DPC apoptosis. In the presence of hormones, CircAGK regulates DPC apoptosis through the regulation of the miR-3180-5p/BAX axis.
