TLDR Dutasteride works better than finasteride for hair loss, with both being safe to use.
This article discusses the use of 5-alpha reductase inhibitors (5-ARIs) in treating androgenetic alopecia (AGA), a type of hair loss. The study found that dutasteride is more effective than finasteride in reversing miniaturization. The safety profile of both drugs is similar, with no major concerns regarding teratogenicity, fertility, sexual side effects, and neurotoxicity. The inhibitors play an integral role in the management of AGA.
