Neurotoxicity refers to damage to the nervous system caused by exposure to natural or artificial toxic substances. These substances, known as neurotoxins, can disrupt or kill neurons, the cells responsible for transmitting signals in the brain and other parts of the nervous system. This can lead to a range of symptoms, from cognitive impairments and motor dysfunction to severe neurological disorders.
