October 2024 in “Tikrit Journal of Pure Science” This study investigated the expression of the Geh gene, responsible for lipase enzyme production, in Staphylococcus aureus isolated from acne patients. A total of 130 swabs were collected from acne patients, with 50 samples (38.4%) identified as S. aureus. The Geh gene expression was analyzed in 10 isolates using RT-PCR, revealing expression levels ranging from 1.5 to 7.2, with a mean folding of 4.2. The findings suggest that the lipase enzyme, produced due to high Geh gene expression, plays a significant role in the pathogenesis of S. aureus in acne patients.
